We’ve known that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onforio would be returning as Daredevil and Kingpin respectively in a new Disney+ series for about six months. Marvel Studios has been relatively quiet, however, about whether two core characters from the Netflix Daredevil series—Karen and Foggy, played by Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson respectively—would make the jump to Disney+ as well.
Cox is often asked whether he has any insight on this, and regularly says that he has no idea or input on what the new series will look like. In a recent conversation at German Comic Con Winter Edition with Henson (via Collider), however, Cox shared his feelings about the matter.
“I was saying this to Elden yesterday,” he said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with the other characters in the new show, but I know for a fact that Elden and Deborah were the heartbeat of what we did before, and the show is a success because of them.”
Cox also touched on Daredevil’s romantic entanglements. “With Matt Murdock, I don’t think it gets more deep than Karen Page,” he said, “and shout out to the wonderful Deborah Ann Woll, who’s just amazing.”
He then went on to say that acting in She-Hulk and specifically the relationship Matt Murdock has with Tatiana Maslany’s character was also fun, although quite a different tone than what we’ve seen with his Daredevil before. “Just don’t tell Karen about it,” Cox joked.
No news yet on when the new Disney+ Daredevil series will make its way to the streaming platform.
